Overview: The Bread Department Manager will oversee the bread-baking department across WINNER. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring quality and consistency, and expanding our wholesale program. The Bread Department Manager will lead a team of bakers, collaborate with other departments, and drive the success of our bread products across all locations. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the bread-baking department. Ensure all baking processes and procedures are followed consistently. Maintain high standards of quality and consistency for all bread products. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of bakers. Schedule and assign tasks to baking staff, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operation. Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development. Production Management: Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production schedules to meet the demands of WINNER locations and wholesale clients. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring timely ordering and restocking. Implement and oversee quality control measures to maintain product standards. Wholesale Program Expansion: Develop and expand the wholesale bread program, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Establish and maintain relationships with wholesale clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Coordinate production and delivery schedules for wholesale orders. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other department managers to ensure cohesive operation across all WINNER locations. Communicate regularly with upper management regarding production status, challenges, and opportunities. Provide feedback and insights to improve processes, products, and overall business performance. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to sanitation standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols. Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and recipes as appropriate. Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications & Character: Proven experience in bread baking Minimum 3 years managing baking operations. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a food production environment. Experience in wholesale operations and client relationship management is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong communication in English and interpersonal skills. Pride in spreading the WINNER brand and ethos. Ability to converse in, or understand Spanish is a plus Work Environment Primarily in a bakery setting with exposure to high temperatures and bakery equipment. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., and handling bakery products and equipment.
